Bathroom Cleaning Procedures:

• General Rules:
  • To facilitate carrying out the duties you may delegate some of them to your kids & other family members (compose chart to regulate duties each week);
  • If you are going to engage your kids into activities, then make sure that they know how to cope with products and of course avoid them contacting with dangerous chemicals;
  • Keep your tools always available, secure (from kids and pets), serviced, and ready to be used – sponges, mops, chemicals, etc;
  • After bathing or showering, make sure that there is no evidence that you have been there (put everything in place, get dirty laundry into special basket, etc). Teach your kids to keep proper cleanness in bathroom from young age;
  • Your bathroom is a warm and wet place that has all conditions for different bacteria and mold to live and prosper, so what you need to do regularly is to wipe dry any moisture that you accidentally spread on the floor and walls, and regularly clean all surfaces to disinfect them;
  • Don’t use abrasive cleansers to clean fiberglass fixtures;
  • Don’t use the same sponge to clean the toilet bowl and the sink & bathtub (to avoid cross-contamination);
• Daily List:
  • Wipe out sinks, faucets, counters and tiles;
  • Wipe dry the bathroom door and all chromed surfaces to prevent mineral scurf;
  • Shine the mirror with glass cleaner, or just wipe it dry from fresh drops and splashes;
  • Hang your towels to dry once you used them, so they don’t mildew and stay odorless for a longer time;
  • Use antibacterial cleaner wipes to give the toilet a quick cleanup daily;
• Weekly Schedule:
  • Scrub your bathtub, shower and tiles;
  • Scrub and disinfect the sink and toilet bowl (both the inside and the outside);
  • Clean bathroom mirrors, all chromed surfaces, faucets and doorknobs with cleaners;
  • Disinfect counters and toothbrush holders;
  • Wash and refill soap dispenser;
  • Mop the floor, use sponge and cleaner diluted in water to clean tiled surfaces;
  • Vacuum the rugs/mats;
  • Wipe down any shelves;
  • Clean switchplates;
  • Replace and wash bathroom towels;
  • Clean the wastebasket;
  • Clean moldings and baseboards;
  • Dust windowsills;
  • Empty dirty laundry bin (take dirty clothes to laundry washer);
  • Check and restock essentials: toiletries and supplies;
  • Flush drains with boiling water to keep them from clogging;
  • Use chrome cleaner to shine showerhead;
  • Rinse, using a squeegee, all areas that you have cleaned to get rid of excess water (to avoid unsightly spots);
• Monthly Instructions:
  • Take down and launder shower curtains;
  • Disinfect your wastebasket and laundry bin;
  • Take care of bathroom cabinets – organize, clean and disinfect them;
  • Clean out ventilation grate and vents;
  • Wash floor curtains (rugs/mats);
  • Throw any expired beauty products into a recycle bin and restock necessary items;
  • Check medicine cabinet to discard outdated medication, ...
